Cristina Gianfagna, MSSA, LISW. - Cristina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Cleveland State University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University. She is licensed in the State of Ohio as an Independent Social Worker. Cristina has experience working with children, adults and families since 2008 providing diagnostic assessments, in-home family counseling, group counseling and individual counseling. She has worked in community mental health, a psychiatric hospital and a residential treatment facility. Within the hospital setting, Cristina provided services to children, adolescent and adults for mental health, dual diagnosis and addiction recovery. Cristina has extensive experience in treating trauma survivors, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, behavioral issues and grief counseling. Cristina has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), using different treatment approaches depending on each individual’s goals. Cristina became a therapist to help people navigate their complex worlds in order to live a healthier, happier life.
